Product detailsThe Hobart DWT-LXE drain water tempering kit is designed for Hobart LXe undercounter dishwashers. Drain water tempering refers to the process of cooling drain water (wastewater) as it exits the dishwasher. Some plumbing codes require drain water tempering in order to protect the integrity of drain lines. The codes require water to be cooled to 140°F or below so it's not too hot when entering a drainage or sewage system.If these codes apply to you, then this kit will help you meet the code requirements. This kit, when installed and operational, will use a cold-water valve to automatically add cold water to the waste water when it starts to drain at the end of a cycle, bringing the temperature down to an acceptable temperature.
