Aramid fibres are very high-tenacity man-made fibres with excellent mechanical properties in tensile strength and especially in elongation-to-break, they also have extremely high resistance to heat, impact and abrasion. Aramid fabric is frequently used in laminates for motorsport, canoes, kayaks and ballistic applications. This fabric is suitable for use with hand-layup, vacuum bagging and resin infusion. To ensure a good bond between the matrix and the aramid fibre, epoxy resin is recommended for use with aramid reinforcements.
