Product Description The Tigo Single Core 100 Amp RSS DIN Rail Transmitter Kit is a module-level rapid shutdown (RSS) activation system designed for photovoltaic (PV) solar arrays that use Tigo TS4-A-F or TS4-A-2F rapid shutdown devices. It plays a critical role in meeting NEC 690.12 rapid shutdown code requirements for residential and commercial rooftop solar installations by enabling controlled shutdown of PV modules in emergency situations, such as fire response or maintenance. When powered, the RSS Transmitter continuously sends a Power Line Communication (PLC) “keep-alive” signal over the PV DC lines to the connected TS4-F units, allowing them to remain active and supplying energy under normal operation. If grid power is lost or the transmitter is turned off, the TS4-F units automatically enter rapid shutdown mode, significantly reducing voltage on the DC side of the system to enhance safety for first responders and service personnel.
